Outside Cabin Please!
All cabins are outside, that is they have a window looking out to sea or over
the ships deck, not like on cruise liners
where you can pick up a cheaper cabin by taking one that has no window to the
outside. The
cabins are spacious, and very well cleaned by the cabin steward. The bathroom
has a good size shower recess, handbasin and toilet. One thing we did learn to
do in our room before sleeping was to secure for sea. There are no stabilisers
on the ship and you must make sure everything is securely put away in cupboards
before sleeping in case you hit some bad weather. We didn't chain one of our
chairs down and it started rolling around the cabin. It meant jumping out of bed
and securing it. We didn't take any photos of the cabin, so I have put two in
from the brochure, it shows the bedroom and the sitting room. There is a TV and
DVD player in each room.

There are DVD's and books in the passengers common loungeroom. Also
there is a very good collection of maps and tour brochures for the Ports which
we call at on the trip.

One other common area that was enjoyed by all was the enclosed sundeck bar,
just one floor below the bridge.
Meals
There was variety, quality and an abundance of food. We ate in the officer's
dining room, but the passengers had their own table. The rest of the crew had
their own dining room. There was a European menu for breakfast, lunch and
dinner. There was also the possibility of having the Asian food that was
prepared for the general crew. We had that a number of times and thoroughly
enjoyed it - especially the Indonesian style jumbo prawns - simply
delicious!

One evening the Captain had a special barbecue prepared for us and the crew
on the sun deck. What can one you say: suckling pig, baked whole fish, fried
rice and many other mouth watering treats, music and wine. A wonderful evening
enjoyed by all.
